How they euthanise babies for being twins and for not growing at the same pace as others... Basicly, the concept of killing.

yeah... i remember that book
as of now, we can pick the sex of our child. =0 its kinda f***** up.
definition of life: the condition that distinguishes organisms from inorganic objects and dead organisms, being manifested by growth through metabolism, reproduction, and the power of adaptation to environment through changes originating internally.
embryos cannot adapt, babies can

they justify killing an embryo because it isn't alive any more than a bacterium. By your definition, we aren't alive any more than a bacterium. Bacterium, embryo and adult human are all equally alive. You think embryoes can't adapt? What are they doing in there for nine months? They're adapting. Adapting in preparation for existence outside of the womb.

Batto is being more beating you, Fro . Though I stopped arguing becuase this basically boils down to opinion; obviously it is useless arguing with people on opposite sides who refuse to agree, right? Though, in my opinion, religion should stay out of scientific development, politics, and anything other than individual use.

you're right, you can't beat anyone when faith or religion is brought up xD
embryos are not adapting to their environment, at least thoughtfully. they are growing by taking in foods and releasing waste.
i was referring, and the definition i assume, to thoughtful apadtation. ex- its cold and so i wear clothes

well some animals eat their young to survive. The are using unborn tiny little embyros to help save or better the lives of millions I think this is natures way with a small step forward from mankind.

babies can adapt, just at a simpler level. they get hungry and start crying, wanting some milk *yum*.
embryos get hungry... and they die.

Sorry if this is a necropost (1.5 months since last post), but I just read this whole thread and would like to give my opinion on this issue.
I consider myself as an atheist. But I still believe each one of us has a soul, and that it is given to you once you develop a brain.
I don't oppose any of your opinions, individually they are reasonable (even though Batto seems to be an adept arguer xD), but if you look at the bigger picture it seems to be an endless argument until we actually find out the truth of why we exist.
I'm all for stem cell research without taking lives. I'm also slightly tilted towards Battosai, despite the fact that I don't believe in God.
Think about it... If you were dead before birth, where would you be?
