Failure is a passive option, unwanted if you only think about doing things that you want.
You've failed at killing yourself up to this point. There's probably lots of things you've failed at doing that others wanted you to do that you still wouldn't do. Because you don't want to.

Yes, but generally it's the passive option. Most things you consciously choose to succeed at you would fail without action which is why I referred to it as passive. But, yes, it's also an active option in many situations.
Such as not showing up in court for the bail your parents payed for.

I passively failed to put my laundry away today through inaction.
It's passive because I forgot to, so without intentional effort I couldn't have succeeded at accomplishing that goal.
