Given a certain task, anything that's possible is an option.
First, any option that would be favorable to you is your goal (depending on the value you place on it).
Example: $1000 worth of food may not be as important to you as a $500 mp3 player.
Second, any option that wouldn't be favorable to you is failure. Different ways to fail have different "badness" values.
Example: Not winning a trip to Hawaii is not as *bad* as having your plane crash on the way there. (This is also ironic and highly unlikely.)
Most importantly, failure is ALWAYS a passive option because it is not something you put effort into, just as was stated in the post directly above.
If failure was your goal, then failing means that you succeeded. (You like to have fun and annoy other people, therefore your goal is to fail.) That goal is something that you put effort into. Effort means an active option.

Given a certain task, anything that's possible is an option. What about the possibilities that are out of your control? Failure is not always a choice, because nobody is in control of everything, therefore some goals are impossible to achieve. Generalisations suck. (yes, that IS a generalisation, and a joke).

bottom line, failure is ALWAYS an option, therefore, always a choice.

I like phailing because it takes less work and I'm too lazy to succeed.

bottom line, failure is ALWAYS an option, therefore, always a choice. Did you choose to fail when you made that post? Clearly the reason you failed is because you just don't know any better.

Of course failure is an option. That's because you suck.
